Glass Bead Studios is a game and music development studio based in the North-East of England. Studio director Charles Fernyhough is a musician, novelist, science writer, broadcaster and professor of psychology at Durham University, where he founded the Centre for Research into Inner Experience. He collaborated with Ninja Theory on their multi-award-winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, along with their in-development game Project: Mara. He has engaged with the creative industries in a variety of other contexts, including working with Hugh Jackman on the theme of memory for the Broadway production of Jez Butterworth’s play The River, and collaborating with artist Marcus Coates on the depiction of psychosis in his acclaimed series of films The Directors.
